“I didn’t expect to meet so much of myself at a conference of women entrepreneurs,” shared one of our participants with tears in her eyes.
This year’s Summit allowed us to create something beyond our imagination—the magic of seeing, listening to, and embracing each other’s stories with open hearts. At Prospera, we collaborate closely with our Latina entrepreneurs throughout the year with workshops on leadership, self-care, business plans, and cooperative governance. Yet, the Summit is a unique space. It’s a time to reconnect, celebrate, and inspire one another.
This year, under the theme Human Libraries, we reflected on the richness of our stories. These “libraries” featured living titles—women who shared their journeys of migration, resilience, entrepreneurship, and the lessons that have shaped them. Each human book invited us to read it with the warmth and sincerity that only a shared experience can offer.
More than 120 attendees were moved by the joy and emotion in every reading circle. Women embraced their own and each other’s stories with a deep love; it felt as if they had known each other for years, even if it was their first meeting. Tears flowed as we listened to testimonies of triumphs, challenges, and struggles that unite us in this powerful community.
We were also inspired by panelists Angelina Marcos, co-founder of Oaxaca To Go, and Carmen Flores, founder of La Patroncita Raspados, who shared their stories of migration and entrepreneurship. Their experiences touched our hearts and encouraged us to keep building together.
Love was the thread that wove through the entire event. From the kitchen helpers to Mercadito exhibitors and volunteers, every face radiated joy at being part of something so special. Thanks to everyone who helped make the eighth Summit a magical and transformative space once again.
Together, we made magic once again.
With love,
The Prospera Team
