Last February, we celebrated something so much greater than a simple cup of coffee: we celebrated the journey, the perseverance, and the collective strength of women who choose to believe in their dreams and work toward them every single day.
At A. Romo’s Cafe, Laura Hernández‘s third café, the space was filled with energy, music, and joy. With great care, warmth, and purpose, Laura organized this event to celebrate her journey and to bring her community together.
Ten years ago, Laura came to Prospera selling bread and coffee at the Oakland Flea Market. Today, she runs her third café. That wasn’t magic. That was possible due to her discipline, love, and perseverance, and getting back up again and again and following her plan with heart.
Laura is not alone, nor has she ever been. At the counter, products from The Choclo, by Pilar Rengifo, were on sale, and the team’s T-shirts were designed and produced by J.KINnovations, by Norma Muñoz.
Two weeks later, Laura opened her café for another entrepreneur, Celina Luna, founder of Iksi Accessories, who celebrated the launch of her new website at A. Romo’s Cafe.
At Prospera, we hold a deep belief: when a woman moves forward, she doesn’t move forward alone. She breaks isolation, activates networks, and creates opportunities for others. She reminds us of our collective roots, where shared work and mutual support were a way of life.
We celebrate Laura, yes. But we also celebrate every woman who takes that step, builds with discipline, and holds onto her vision with love.
Check out a few snapshots from our community celebration—such a special time together.
Join this movement: accompany, celebrate, and support the women who build community and turn dreams into reality.
